How to Post an Ad

Posting an ad on FPOM Classifieds is simple. For a step-by-step guide, please follow the instructions below.

Before you post, ensure you have signed into your registered FPOM account by selecting “Sign In”. Then, select the closest, most appropriate FPOM location to you. If you are an unregistered FPOM user, you can register an account easily prior to post.

To post an ad:

1. Select the “Post Ad on Manitoba Classifieds” button found under the My Dashboard at the top right corner of the page.

2. Select the category and sub-category in which you’d like your ad to appear. You can simply post your ad as you normally would.

3. You will be directed to our "Post Your Ad" page where you can enter your ad’s details including price, description, images & video and choose additional features for increased exposure.

To post a wanted ad: select “I Want or Looking for” under "Ad Type".

To post as free or swap/ trade: select a price of "Free" or “Swap / Trade”.

Please note: only items that are being offered for free, with no additional stipulations, are permitted to be posted in this manner.

4. Select “Post Your Ad” at the bottom of the page once completed.

Adding images to your ad gets your ad noticed. Get that camera ready!

To add images:

-From the "Post Your Ad" page, click on the "Select Images" button.

-Choose the images you'd like to use in your ad and click upload.

Ads in most categories stay on FPOM Classifieds for 30 days.

For Paid ads it varies.

A few days prior to when your ad is set to expire; you might receive an email notification with the option to re-post it. Re-posting an ad extends its life by another 1 month, and brings it back to the top of the first page of its category.

It is easy to post an ad online quickly, but to maximize your effort, consider the many ways your ad might be improved upon for better results. There are many factors to creating an effective classified ad.

Here are a few tips:

Title:- Keep it in mind as how someone else will search for your ad

Create a title that will get your ad noticed by others and an apt description that uses key words or phrases which someone might use when searching for the item you are selling. How effective an internet ad is depends very strongly on the ability of potential buyers to locate the posting. The more detail you can provide on the item, the higher the quality of the leads will be.

Add Details!

Provide with all the details related to the product you are selling.

Ads with photos receive higher quality, more serious replies than those without. Adding well lit, good quality images to your ad will go a long way in creating buyer interest. Unlike newspaper classifieds, there is no cost to post a picture on FPOM

Double-check your city and category.

It is important to ensure that you post your ad to the correct city and category. If your ad is in the wrong category, interested users may have a difficult time locating it. For example, if your item is located in Selkirk, but you posted it in Winnipeg, no local people will see your ad, and making a sale will be very difficult.

FPOM is accessible for the whole world- but most times registered members have to have a local number to be registered with us.

Email confirmation is an important security check that helps prevent other people from signing up for an FPOM Account using your email address. It should only take a few seconds to confirm your email address. Upon signing up for your account, we'll send a short email with confirmation instructions to the email address you gave us.
Once you have logged in, you will need to confirm your email address. Click on the URL that is provided to confirm your email address and complete the registration process.
The email confirmation is sent to the email address you used to sign up for your FPOM Account.
If you did not receive the email confirmation, it may be due to an invalid email address or restrictions from your email provider or internet service that are blocking email from FPOM.
First, check the email address you provided us with for your FPOM Account. There may be a typo in the email address. If the email address is correct, then check your email spam filters to make sure that the confirmation email hasn't been sent to your junk, spam or bulk mail folders.
If you find a typo in the email address or you can't find the confirmation email in your spam folders, please create a new account, following the instructions under- How to create your FPOM Account.
