The Winnipeg Free Press is an industry-leading media company that focuses on providing news and information to Manitobans. Our Marketing department is currently recruiting for a Promotions Coordinator. Working across all areas of the business, the Marketing department at the Winnipeg Free Press focuses on subscription growth. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Promotions Coordinator will be in charge of our targeted marketing initiative, including email and social campaigns. The candidate will be required to meet strict deadlines, set priorities, and balance their time across multiple tasks. Responsibilities for this position include: Working with business owners to develop marketing plans; including understanding objectives and priorities, assessing competitive offerings, understanding product features and benefits, and identifying growth opportunities Executing and overseeing email marketing program, including development and optimization of automated email system to accomplish business goals Creating, managing, and optimizing social media ad campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others as needed Assisting with event planning and execution, including public relations events Researching and brainstorming opportunities for business and audience growth Other projects and duties as assigned Qualifications: Marketing degree, diploma, or equivalent Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience writing ad copy and translating features into benefits considered an asset Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Creative thinker that can synthesize new information to generate new ideas Outgoing personality with an ability to multi-task and take initiative Understanding of modern audience segmentation and targeting practices Strong planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Motivated and ambitious self-starter who can work independently and excel under pressure.
