Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries is recruiting for a Manger, Computer Operations. MBLL is a Crown Corporation of the Province of Manitoba and is responsible for the distribution and sales of alcoholic beverages, entertainment options through Club Regent, McPhillips Station, Gaming Centre and a province wide network of video lotto terminals and the sales of lottery tickets in the province of Manitoba.
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Manager, Computer Operations is responsible for the effective delivery and management of all Data Centre operations in support of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries lines of business as well as the corporate offices. The Manager will be responsible for all desktop application, lines of business technologies and systems which includes all Tier II assigned Incident and request service delivery for Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries.
Prepare annual budgets in accordance with long term departmental goals and required expenditures.
Monitor financial performance to ensure expenditures follow budget forecasts.
Lead the development and implementation of department initiatives and strategies for cost savings, process improvements and best practice approaches.
Provide technical leadership for all areas of computer operations.
Responsible for all aspects of the Desktop Environment, including research /refreshes/ and planned upgrades
Develop and manage metrics that will be used to track and improve the performance of the Computer Operations Department
Manage small to medium projects following the PMBOK guidelines.
Monitor vendor services to ensure quality service is provided.
Responsible for IT asset management
Develop and maintain Operations staff with expertise on computer operations for all Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries systems.
Manage processes related to procurement of specialized parts and services.
Encourage a climate that supports diversity.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Completion of a recognized degree or diploma program in an IT related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
A minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in an information systems function, with a minimum of three years of supervisory/leadership experience, ideally gained in the gaming / liquor distribution sales industry.
Training in human resource management and financial management.
Demonstrated ability to meet service delivery targets.
Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage large teams across multiple sites.
Knowledge and experience in implementing and managing according to the ITIL processes.
Demonstrated management experience with a view to efficiency, strong leadership and organizational skills, adoption of best practices, strong initiative and ability as a self-starter, excellent human resource management and labour relations skills, and planning and managing budgets.
Demonstrated project management skills in an Information Systems environment.
Experience drafting business cases.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.

Bilingual (French/English) language skills.
Computer Engineering Technology (CET) or associated certification.
Training in project management or a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
Accreditation in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Level Management.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux Desktop and Server technology, Blade Technology, SAN storage, Cloud Technology, VMware Virtualization, Cisco Network technology.
