What is the opportunity?
As a Group Consultant, you contribute to sales plans by acquiring and growing profitable Group Savings and Group Banking clients and accounts. You contribute to enhance the client experience by leveraging RBC expertise to provide solutions and advice designed to satisfy the plan sponsors’ corporate retirement plan needs. You seek out new clients by developing relationships with Commercial Account Managers, RBC DS Investment Advisors, RBC field management, branch partners and Centres of Influence in the community. 60% of your time is allocated to lead generation and 40% to sales activation. This position will require occasional overnight trips, as well as occasional weekend work. The Group Consultant is a high exposure role to all business platforms within RBC.
The territory that this position covers is Winnipeg and rural Manitoba.
What will you do?
Sell Group Savings and Group Banking plans
Identify referral opportunities for the Mortgage Assistance Program
Champion the RBC Group Advantage value proposition with partners and within the external market
Build and maintain relationships with the Vice Presidents Commercial, Regional Vice Presidents Integrated Markets and Commercial Account Managers to identify market opportunities
What do you need to succeed?
Retirement Plans Associate and/or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (RPA/CEBS) designation through the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, or complete the courses necessary for an RPA designation within 30 months of hire date
Previous sales experience in the financial industry (e.g., Financial Advisor, Account Executive, Commercial Account Manager, Financial Planner, Branch Manager, etc.)
Proven application of business acquisition, establishing community and client relationships with success in business growth
Experience creating a referral network or possess a current extensive network of centres of influence
Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e., web based meetings, social media, Digital Banking and Mobile Applications)
Strong prospecting, networking and business development skills
A strong sales orientation and a demonstrated passion for putting clients first
Demonstrated sales success in meeting and exceeding sales targets
Independent and entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to self-manage to achieve plan
Excellent presentation, communication, time management and organizational skills
Action-oriented business acumen and creativity
A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce or Business Administration
