Robertson College Online is seeking a Student Support Specialist. In this role, the Student Support Specialist is responsible for providing operational and administrative support for day-to-day online campus operations. This position will be primarily responsible for the scheduling of online programs and courses, and assisting in all aspects of student enrollment. The Student Support Specialist will also handle escalated student issues and involve key stakeholders as needed to achieve successful resolution.
Create and maintain program schedules using Excel. Communicate schedule to students and internal stakeholders.
Assist with student enrollment in internal systems.
Assist with the administration of third-party learning platforms.
Assist with student intake tasks and duties.
Interpret, monitor, and examine reports that pertain to students’ academic progress.
Implement an At Risk student list and co-ordinate with Student Services Team.
Assist with the follow up of students who have been identified as having excessive absences and/or failing grades in cooperation with Student Services.
Ensure compliance with funding agency requirements regarding attendance and withdrawals.
Make recommendations and identify requirements for enhancements in internal and external systems.
Assist with the development and maintenance of departmental intranet site.
Participate in major initiatives or projects as assigned.
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Proficiency in database or application management demonstrated through education or prior work experience
1-2 years of experience in scheduling, preferably in an educational environment
High comfort level in learning new technologies
Strong communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with students and staff
Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a high volume environment
Must be able to provide a criminal records check and child abuse registry check
