The Licensing Unit is responsible for the province wide vendor system for wildlife, angling and park licences and permits, the distribution of relevant Guides and the Big Game Draw program.
Conditions of Employment:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must be capable of carrying 15 kg and climbing a 5-step ladder as part of the duties to receive/provide boxes and brochures from/to customers and retrieving files.
Extensive clerical, administrative and/or financial experience.
Experience reviewing and processing documents, including accounting documents.
Experience in accounts collections, including receiving customer payments, maintaining financial ledgers, reconciliation, and follow-up on outstanding accounts.
Experience retrieving and entering information into databases with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective verbal communication skills.
Effective written communication skills including experience preparing business correspondence.
Experience applying and explaining policies and procedures.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with the public and various stakeholders.
Strong conflict resolution skills with experience dealing with complaints.
Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook or similar computer applications.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
The Licensing Clerk is responsible for processing, monitoring, collecting and reconciling the payments and licences to vendor and client accounts for licences (angling, hunting, and park permits) distributed by Licensing Unit. The duties include preparing, verifying and/or completing various accounting documents related to payments and licences; preparing deposit documents; data entry and posting to the computer systems; reconciling and completing outstanding accounts; and refunding accounts. The position is a team member of the Licensing Unit.
